Meet Dr. SungHee Kim

Dr. SungHee Kim obtained a Master’s degree and Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to attending VCU, she received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. She finished dental school at the top of her class and was inducted into the National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. At VCU, she received research awards working on small RNAs of Porphyromonas gingivalis and represented VCU School of Dentistry at the International Association of Dental Research conference.

Dr. Kim completed her pediatric dentistry specialty training at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C. During her pediatric dental residency, she received extensive training in restorative and preventive dentistry, management of dental trauma, behavior management, oral conscious sedation, and dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia. In addition, she received training in the dental treatment of patients with craniofacial anomalies and special needs.

Dr. Kim is a board-certified pediatric dentist and maintains memberships in the following professional organizations:

  • The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
  • The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry

Dr. Kim is dedicated to the health of children and values the importance of a positive dental experience. She is a great listener and connects well with patients and parents, making them feel comfortable under her care. Through her education and clinical experiences, she is able to provide safe and comprehensive treatment in the office setting as well as in the operating room under general anesthesia.

In her spare time, Dr. Kim likes to practice yoga and spend time with her family and friends. She is married and resides in Fairfax.
