Meet Dr. Girish Banaji

Dr. Girish Banaji is a board-certified pediatric dentist and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a graduate of the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and received training in pediatric dentistry at Howard University College of Dentistry.
Dr. Banaji has practiced pediatric dentistry since 1993 in challenging clinical settings. His clinical experiences enable him to diagnose and treat routine as well as complex problems encountered in pediatric dentistry. He has never stopped challenging himself professionally or personally and as a result, Dr. Banaji remains on the cutting edge of all aspects of his field.
Being committed to prevention of dental problems, he institutes a comprehensive preventive program for all his patients.
Dr. Banaji is committed to child centered pediatric dental excellence and will provide patients with the highest quality care that one can expect.
Dr. Banaji actively participates in continuing education courses given by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He also mentors pre-dental and pre-dental hygiene students, in addition to teaching and lecturing to dentists and physicians in the greater Washington, DC area.

Dr. Banaji is an active member of the Dental Advisory Committee of the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services. In this capacity, he helps shape the state’s Medicaid dental program. Since 2005, he has volunteered as a pediatric dental consultant for the Craniofacial Clinic at the Inova Children’s Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia.
Dr. Banaji and his wife have been married for 24 years. They have three children, as well as Sadie, a golden doodle.
When he’s not at work, you can find Dr. Banaji outdoors in nature, with family, traveling, and reading. His passions outside of work involve family time, keeping up with current events, and helping his children be their best.
